This isn’t just a ride – it’s a meeting with a pack of highly trained, joyful huskies who live to run and work as a team. You’ll feel their energy the moment they see the harnesses come out, and the excitement builds as they’re clipped in, barking and leaping with anticipation. Then, as the cart begins to roll, a remarkable silence falls – the dogs settle into rhythm, focused and strong, pulling you smoothly along forest trails and open paths.

What To Expect
During a Dog Cart session at Fjälläventyr, guests get to experience the thrill of dog sledding in a snow-free setting. Instead of sleds, we use specially designed carts with wheels, pulled by the same strong and eager huskies that run our winter tours. One of our experienced mushers will guide the team while you sit back and enjoy the ride through scenic forest trails and gravel roads around the Sälen area.
Before the ride, there’s time to meet the dogs, learn about how we care for and train them, and feel their infectious excitement as they prepare to run. After the tour, there’s often an opportunity to spend more time with the dogs – many guests find this just as memorable as the ride itself.
The whole session takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, with the actual cart ride lasting between 20 and 40 minutes depending on the weather and trail conditions. We recommend dressing comfortably for the outdoors, with sturdy shoes and a jacket suited to the season, as the wind can pick up during the ride.
