The Getty Villa is a museum modeled after the Villa dei Papri, a country house in Herculaneum that was buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. It displays a collection of Greek, Roman and Etruscan art that explores ancient life, culture, religion and even war. See and hear stories about treasures that range from early, intact perfume bottles and coins to massive, authentic statues of Greek and Roman gods.
