Queen Anne's Summer Palace

The Summer Palace of Queen Anne (also called Belvedere or the Royal Summer Palace) is a renaissance building in the Royal Garden of Prague Castle. The Summer Palace was built in the renaissance style by Ferdinand I as a part of the royal garden founded in previous years. The Summer Palace had a private, social and representative function within the royal and imperial residence of Prague. In front of the Summer Palace there is a famous Singing Fountain. Under the reign of Rudolph II the Summer Palace was used for a part of his collection of art and also as a place which an important mathematician and astronomer Tycho de Brahe used as an observatory. The Convent of Saint Agnes, also called Na Františku, is situated on the right bank of the Vltava River in the historic area of the Old Town.
