Paddleboard Scenic Upper Colorado River Half-day Trip
Overview
This section of the Upper Colorado river is a great place to safely learn the basics of SUPing as you challenge yourself on rapids or choose to skirt certain ones. Beginning as snowmelt high in Rocky Mountain National Park, the Rockies give birth to the legendary Colorado River. Downstream of the National Park, the river intensifies through the famed Class 5 “Gore Canyon”, but below, where our SUP trips begin, the river gentles.
Fire up with adrenaline on river rapids atop your SUP. Land on beaches and stretch. Stop at a riverside hot spring and warm up! You will paddle past scenic areas including meadows, valleys, rolling ranch lands, and steep canyon walls, home to all kinds of wildlife, including bald eagles, deer, beaver, and big horn sheep. Years with lower flow or late summer are perfect opportunities to learn to SUP.
We are proudly a smaller operation offering intimate Colorado adventures. Our stand up paddle board guides are highly trained, experienced, and state certified.

What To Expect
Take on the beautiful and pristine Upper Colorado River on this fully-guided SUP adventure. Paddle boarding on flat water is a blast, but add some current and whitewater and take it to a new level of fun. We start out in a calm river section to improve our balance and then progress down river with many learning opportunities on the way. Beginners welcome. All SUP trips depart with our 1/2 Day Rafting Trips.
Conveniently located to Winter Park and Breckenridge, Silverthorne, and Dillon, Upper Colorado River Rafting provides mild Class I-II rapids and occasional Class III rapids at higher water flow for a bigger challenge. Participants must be at least 12 years old.
Mid-June to early July is traditionally the high-water season. When the river runs at its peak, it can be a big ride. Most people enjoy normal runs in May, then mid-July through all September.
