Overview
Costa Azul has long been one of the most important surfing areas in Los Cabos due to its exposure to swells that travel across the Pacific before reaching the Sea of Cortez. These conditions create waves that attract surfers throughout much of the year and make the beach an ideal location for learning fundamental surf skills. Beyond standing on a board, surfing teaches participants how to read wave patterns, understand ocean movement, and develop awareness of changing conditions. Learning in this environment provides a deeper appreciation of the relationship between the coastline, the ocean, and Baja California Sur's surf culture.

Meeting and Pickup
• Complimentary round-trip transportation is available from hotels in Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, and the Tourist Corridor• If your hotel is not listed, feel free to contact us so we can check transportation availability for your area• Guests arriving with their own vehicle may meet directly at Costa Azul Beach (Zippers Parking Area), where the surfing lesson begins from the beach• Hotels outside the main tourist area, including Hard Rock, Nobu, Rancho San Lucas, Diamante, or Four Seasons, are not included in complimentary transportation and will meet at Plaza Gali OXXO in Cabo San Lucas• Cruise guests will also meet at Plaza Gali OXXO, approximately 3–5 minutes walking from the marina exit. Detailed walking directions will be provided with your confirmation message• Cabo San Lucas cruise arrivals operate using tender boats, which may take additional time depending on port operations. We strongly recommend taking the earliest tender available or booking priority tender service whenever possible• Guests who miss transportation or arrive late must arrive directly at Costa Azul Beach before the activity start time at their own expense

What To Expect
Learn to surf in one of Los Cabos' most recognized surf locations during a lesson designed for both first-time surfers and those looking to improve their technique. Held at Costa Azul, this experience combines professional instruction, ocean awareness, and hands-on practice in the waters of the Sea of Cortez.
Your lesson begins on the beach, where your instructor introduces the fundamentals of surfing, including safety, paddling technique, board positioning, wave selection, and proper pop-up mechanics. After practicing on the sand, you'll enter the water for guided instruction tailored to your experience level. Throughout the session, your instructor provides continuous feedback to help build confidence, improve technique, and maximize your opportunities to catch waves. Combining learning, physical activity, and the natural beauty of Costa Azul, this experience offers an authentic introduction to surf culture in Baja California Sur.

- This experience requires favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to unsafe weather, ocean conditions, or operational restrictions, guests will be offered an alternative date or full refund
- No locker facilities are available, but belongings may usually remain inside the transportation vehicle during the activity

If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
