Sólheimajökull is part of the Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, which is the 4th largest in Iceland. It has a mixture of ash and ice, which gives it a dark color up close. We will hike around, so you can see various crevasses.

This is a meet on location tour, you will meet your guide in the parking lot for gearing up and a safety briefing. This hike is moderately challenging, so we do not recommend for any smaller children and anyone with physical limitations..

This glacier hiking tour begins when you arrive at the base camp at the foot of Solheimajokull, and is perfect for adventurers due to its accessible slopes, incredible formations, and striking views.Your friendly, expert guide will be waiting to dress you in a harness, helmet, and pair of crampons and equip you with an ice ax. They will then brief you on the equipment and route before beginning .Worry not about the dangers of glacier hiking in Iceland, as your guide knows how to navigate this otherworldly terrain safely. You are also welcome to ask them any questions about the ice caps or life in Iceland, and they can take photos of you and your group at the most picturesque spots.
