The levels of this salty below sea level lake vary with rainfall and evaporaton. Currently a forest previously drowned is appearing like skeletons of dinosaurs from the waters of the eastern side. Birdlife in profusion this is a natural spectacle

We did a version of this trip from port to the Eco park and then transported along coastline in 15–20-person speed boats to the pristine shoreline. The views are beautiful and the whole area is in the beginning stages of develpment. Still creating roads. The beach was beautiful. They provided coolers, floating coolers with beer, wine and bubbly. The support crews work hard to provide a worry free adventure. Chairs and Shaded areas were available at the beach. The views are fantastic.

We did 3 tours with them, all was a good experience. Our guide, Efrain, was very kind and knowledgeable. He told us everything about the region. He's obsessed with nature and birds, we had a great time together. He realized that we like to be calm and quiet in nature, so he switched the destinations, we went first to Bahia de las Aguilas and then to Laguna Oviedo. That meant we were almost alone at the beach. The white sand beach of Bahia de las Aguilas was also amazing, the water was crystal clear. Laguna Oviedo is a wonderful, untouched place, we saw a wide variety of birds and we could see the iguanas directly face to face. Efrain and the national park tour guide were both well prepared. Don't forget to take your binoculars with you.

The guides were very helpful and punctual. They made sure we were all taken care of and were comfortable.

Our guide (Jasmine) was very knowledgeable about the tour. Her English was more than perfect and she explained everything really well. We were a couple on holiday for 7 days, this was by far our best experience, I can only recommend this tour to everyone!The driver (Jose) was great too, in this country most people drive very dangerous, the road is a dangerous place as well with all the bikes, etc. But he gave us a safe feeling during the trip!Sam

I visited Barahona in December. Booked a trip to Lake Enriquillo with Ecotour Barahona. Aside from the already gorgeous scenery, wildlife (birds, Iguanas, and crocs); the delicious lunch and our fabulous guide, Yovanny, made the trip fantastic. Nice boat trip around the lake, followed by a short hike to a cave with petroglyphs, lunch and then a stop at a natural spring for swimming. We enjoyed the trip so much that we booked a tour the following day to Flamingo Island. Our guide, Yovanny, spoke excellent English and had a welcoming personality along with good bird knowledge. All in all, a great introduction to the SW part of the DR.

I like the finer things in life and am usually nervous booking tours for fear that they won't live up to my expectations. Well, book your tour now ladies and gents because Ecotour will not disappoint. Our tour guide's name is Jasmine and she was beautiful, sweet, inspirational, and a great conversationalist. She had the perfect balance of providing info and taking pics and allowing us to have our private time. She made the tour fun and exciting and she was very accommodating. Our driver Ronald was very patient too as we asked to stop at various places to take pics and grab snacks. We selected a private tour to Bahia de Las Aguilas and this is a MUST when visiting the DR. I had visited the DR annually for the last 8 years and this was my first time visiting this flawless beach. When we return in a few months we will select Ecotours Barahona again. Hugs to Jasmine!

My wife and I booked 2 visits with Ecotour Barahona: Bahia de Las Aguilar and Lago Enriquillo. Both went very well. The guide (Giovanni) knows those places like his pocket, he is very knowledgeable about animals and vegetables and gave us many information.The trip was also very safe thanks to José, the driver.We enjoyed very much our two days.

Our first trip and they did not disappoint. The drive is a bit hard so I took motion sickness meds. But once we got to the lake and Bahia De Las Águila it was all worth while. I did not want to get out of the water. Efrain and our driver Ronald are amazing guides. Highly recommend!

This is the third time I've either gone or sent groups of people on this trip with Ecotour. I continue to be impressed. The lunch is great. The experience top notch. Ecotour personnel are fabulous. This is a day very well spent.

Beautiful scenery, amazingly beautiful beaches. It is a long rough drive, mostly a gravel road all torn up

I liked the tour because i got to see some wildlife. I was a solo tour, 1 driver, 1 tour guide, and me. Its about a hour drive out of barahona, going thourgh a few different small towns, and nice mountain ranges in the background. We didnt stop at the "lookout point" on the way as some reviews said they did. We went right to the lake Enriquillo park entrance. There we met the park workers/guides and my tour guide paid for park entrance and i got a wrist band. They explained the history of the lake and the wildlife in the area. Then i went with a park guide who spoke english, he was very nice and explained the park to me. Took me out on a boat to 2 different spots along the lake, the first spot had 2 crocodiales, and the second spot had at least 7-8. There was 2 flamingos altho they warned me that they do not live here anymore since the lake level dropped. Saw many other birds of different sizes. Some small fish could be seen in the water. The park guide offered 3 times for me to go swimming when there was 5 crocodiales within 10 meters. At first i thought he was jokeing, but he was serious and said they swim in there all the time. The crocodiales are only 5-7 feet long or so, and only eat things about 1 foot long the guide said. And are not aggressive to humans. After this boat ride we returned and i went back in SUV with driver and eco tour guide. We did not go to any cave to see markings. We did stop at a natural pool, but as i was only 1 passenger, and i saw many pictures of the pool and could see it from the road, i decided we could skip that part. We continued back to the hotel, but they explained the sugar cane production in the area and the process as we passed it. As well as the history of the area and population. Then dropped off at my hotel again.I did wonder why we didnt go to that cave mentioned, but overall it was a great excursion and i got to see the crocodiles as i hoped, and great scenery.
