Sherry was an absolute star on our private tour. We felt looked after and cared for the whole day and Sherry moved us though all places with patience and care. She even looked after my 70+ year old mum while I walked further along the wall. This trip was well worth the money! Highly recommend - go early to avoid the crowds.

We had a great experience going to Ming Tombs (Ding Ling) and Great Wall today. Tony is a great tour guide. He managed the trip in a way to minimize waiting time (which is a huge plus on a hot day!). He is very knowledgeable and accommodating. Highly recommended!

An awesome tour with Grace
We had a huge feast at the first location with soup, fried bread, beef sandwiches, dumplings, and a fermented mung bean drink. After that we stopped at different stands to taste things in the hutongs which you would never know about if you went alone. Then we ended with a seated tasting of sweet treats. The majority of the tour was eating while walking/standing but Grace offered to buy us lots of water and tea on the way. I think we ate from 6 or 7 different locations. The whole way Grace told us about the history of Beijing and the food we were eating. I loved this tour and can’t wait to go on another Lost Plate tour in another city.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience on our day tour. From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully organized and enjoyable. Our driver, Kevin, made sure we were comfortable throughout the journey, especially with the air-conditioned van, which was a welcome relief during the hot July weather. He ensured that we traveled safely and smoothly to each destination, making the entire trip feel relaxed and stress-free. Our tour guide, Sherry, was fantastic. She struck the perfect balance between sharing insightful information and giving us time to unwind during the drive. At the Great Wall, despite the heat and crowds, Sheri went above and beyond by offering to queue for popular rides like the toboggan. This thoughtful gesture allowed us to spend more time exploring the wall instead of waiting in line. One of the highlights of the day was our visit to the Summer Palace. Sheri suggested an optional boat tour, which was not originally part of our plan, and we are so glad we took her recommendation. The boat ride offered a beautiful and unique way to take in the scenery, and it became one of our favorite moments of the trip. Overall, this tour exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-organized, comfortable, and memorable experience.

Tony is an excellent guide for the day with fluent English and amazing knowledge which he shared during the 90min car journey to Mutianyu Great Wall from airport hotel. He ensured to contact us the evening prior to confirm time we wanted to leave and was punctual in the morning waiting in our hotel receptionTony accompanied us up to the Great Wall on chair lift and shared more information and took photos for us. Then gave us some time to explore the higher parts of the wall. Then we got toboggan ride down. Very busy but leaving a 7.30am was avoiding most of crowd that looked very long lines by time we were leaving at 12.30. Probably 1.5hrs on the Great Wall in total which was enough time, maybe arrange to leave earlier if you want longer time.Tony then took us to enjoy some tea tasting which was refreshingly nice after much climbing on the Great WallThe car was luxury comfort and waited as we went to attractions and lunch. The lunch was very nice (buffet) and opportunity to taste various dishes all of which were very tasty.Definitely recommend the tour with personal guide Tony if he’s available.Thanks Tony for making a great memorable day for us

We had a fantastic day and would highly recommend Justin and Catherine Lu Tours. Starting at the Jiankou section was incredible - we had it all to ourselves and saw it in its wild glory.
