Wow!, an incredible afternoon with Marie, who is very friendly, knowledgeable and so passionate about their merino farm. From taking us up to the top of the farm, for breath taking panoramic views, to the shearing shed learning of the fleece classification to the process of the fibre into garments and Meeting her pet sheep that loved to be petted. Thank you so much Marie, we both enjoyed the farm experience and we throughly recommend everyone to visit.

This was a great experience, Levi and his team were communicative, diligent, and helpful. They provided a lot of information during the tour. We saw seals, as expected, but also other wildlife. We recommend and even do more than once. The pedal kayak is definitely the best way to do this.

I loved this authentic merino sheep farming experience!Our hosts Terry & Marie were incredibly welcoming, sharing their livelihood & home with us.We saw their working dogs herd the sheep, learnt how the sheep are sheered and the wool graded / processed.Afternoon treats of home grown fruit and veg enjoyed in their garden.What really came through was their genuine passion for animal welfare and longevity of farming on the land.Highly recommend supporting this family run farm!

Great tour
Everyone had a window seat and the pilot did a great job of making sure each side of the plane had a chance to see the whales. On our flight we saw a fin whale and then a sperm whale that stayed on the surface for a long time. It's a very different perspective seeing the whales from above .... the pilot gets you quite close. Would recommend this tour.

JA was our tour guide and she was the best! The van was very comfortable and she made sure we stopped when we needed to for food and bathroom breaks. Our cruise shipped altered the time we were in port so she had to adjust our tour accordingly. JA was knowledgeable, funny, and very personable. It being a cruise ship excursion, she was very aware of our time, and making sure we returned with plenty of time. The views were gorgeous and she was a great picture taker too! Would definitely recommend this tour!

Amazing experience!
For starters- our pilot Dan was great. Highly experienced, knowledgeable and charming. I don’t know much about helicopters but I can tell you this one was stunning with floor to ceiling windows for optimum viewing. So exciting to see a sperm whale and a humpback! The flight and scenery alone is incredible!! Truly a thrilling experience of a lifetime.

Nick was really helpful finding a space for me last minute and organising to pick me up and drop me off. Everything went very smoothly and our pilot Daniel was very knowledgeable and got us to see many angle of the blue whale and humpback whale that we spitted. Everyone was very friendly and it was overall a great experience.

Wings over whales-just do it!
Wings Over Whales is a great way to see the marine animals off the coast of Kaikoura. We did a 30 minute flight on 17 November, 2025, when the humpbacks were leaving, so no guarantees we would see any. Luckily we saw one humpback and lots of dolphins, plus the amazing scenery of the coast. The pilots are experienced and excellent at their jobs, as well as genuinely nice people. Definitely worth doing.
