I wanted to do something fun for my sister who was visiting from the West Coast, so a cruise on beautiful Lake Champlain was the plan. So glad I chose Whistling Man Schooner Co! It was just my party of 3 and Captain Cory. “Buttercup” was our boat and she the perfect vessel for our excursion; comfortable, clean, quiet and just a good vibe. Besides the incredible natural beauty of Lake Champlain, it was Captain Cory who made the whole trip memorable! Versed with facts, trivia and jokes plus an obvious passion for what he does, Captain Cory made the whole adventure an amazing 2 hours! So bring some yourself some food, drinks, and whatever else you need, then kickback and enjoy!

I was surprised with a zip line adventure for my 16th wedding anniversary. The staff that greeted us were friendly, and since all parties were early, we got an early start. We were walked through basics, got harnessed, gloved and helmeted, and got instruction on the practice line. The staff checked that we were capable of following the basic directions and were able to demonstrate that we could slow and stop ourselves on the line, and able to reel ourselves in if we stopped short. That all took about 20 minutes, then we were driven to the first location. We all zipped from line to line, repelled twice and ended near the van that drove us back to HQ. There were several opportunities for photos, which the staff took with their phone, and which you can purchase after the tour. ($40 to have the set emailed to you- which is expensive since they aren’t being printed out for you.) We did purchase them and are glad we did, since you’re discouraged from bringing your cellphone to prevent it being lost in the woods below the zip lines. If you’re nervous, don’t be! The staff give great instructions throughout and for each step. They tell some great dad jokes as well, and give you info about the nature around you. There was a hiccup at the first zip line spot, which left my partner scared since her second safety strap hadn’t been hooked before she left the platform. (Adrenaline much?!) Thankfully she was able to calm down after a few more zips, and was able to enjoy herself.

This was hands down one of the best tours I have been on. I love to travel and always do some type of tour in the area I’m in. I chose Vermont because of this tour. This tour led me to stay in Woodstock and what a neat town. Traveling as a solo female can be worrying at times, but Aimee was amazing. She was top notch on her communication and organization, very professional and an absolute joy. I have never had a tour guide call and make sure I would be happy with the tour. Aimee knows exactly where to go and some true honey hole stops. If you ever find yourself in Vermont this is a must tour.
