Self Guided Scavenger Hunt in Alvor
Overview
This activity has been designed by a local ‘expert’, who has created a fun experience that takes you to some of the town’s highlights and the lesser-known places, away from all the tourists. The puzzles are designed to help you experience the place from a different perspective – using landmarks, murals, statues etc - and you’ll even learn some ‘fun facts’ along the way.
The self guided aspect of this activity means that you can rush through as fast as you like or stop for a drink or something to eat as you like. The app remembers your progress and even allows you to complete your adventure another day.
We aim to strike a fun balance between challenging puzzles, a fun outing with friends and family and a pleasant walk around outside.

What To Expect
The activity is a new outdoor escape room experience. It is similar to escape rooms and scavenger hunts. Each puzzle uses items in plain sight. They might be murals, statues, buildings or landmarks. The questions are designed to make you think and pay attention, making for a fun group activity.
Our App helps you navigate between puzzles without simply asking you to follow a dot on a map. Hints can be used if you need assistance solving any of the puzzles. The App is available on both Android and iPhone.
The Alvor Hunt takes you along the pretty waterfront and around the narrow streets of the old town. Depending on the time of year, you could start or end the hunt with a short walk to the town's beautiful white sand beach. Or why not make a day of it, and take a picnic with you, or stop for lunch at one of the fantastic fish restaurants?
There are 2 hunts to choose from: Family or Standard. Both hunts are 2.1km long and have 20 clues; the Family Hunt makes more use of observation and has stronger hints. They can be completed in around 2 hours, but you can take as long as you like - provided you finish before dark, or you might struggle to find the clues!
