Fun day with excellent service and great food. We boarded CostaCat promptly at 715 and we're immediately served fresh fruit, carrot muffins, & coffee. The ride over to tortuga island was lovely and we saw a couple of sea turtles and a few dolphins. (The ride made at least 1 passenger ill, so be prepared.) The staff had chairs & umbrellas arranged for each group (ie. 4 chairs specifically for our family of 3), ready for arrival. We were immediately served drinks and invited to enjoy the beach & ocean. There are scheduled activities: snorkeling at 9:30, lunch at 11:15, banana boat ride &/or short hike to a pretty viewpoint after lunch. Lunch was excellent and seemed unlimited. Throughout the day the staff are constantly circulating to check on guests, collect used cups, offer assistance, bring the drinks of your choice. For snorkeling, people are provided with a life vest, goggle/mask, & snorkel, then we board small boats to go to a platform near some rocky islands. As soon as you jump in, you see an assortment of fish and have 20-30 minutes to snorkel around the rocky area. Staff are watching carefully and work to keep everyone a safe distance from the rocks and from the path of any other boats. I really enjoyed this part of the day and saw a nice variety of fish & urchins. The water is turquoise, the beach is light sand mixed with rocks and coral fragments and the waves a fun to play in. The "hike" was very short to a lovely viewpoint. It was too hot in the afternoon to want to go on the full loop. We saw javelina, a deer, iguanas, and crabs on the island as well as a sea turtle from the overlook. The day was very enjoyable and my teen daughter says it was her favorite day of our vacation.

This was an excellent night tour. In smaller groups we saw lots of amazing animals and Michael was an outstanding guide. Really cared about the animals and got us some amazing photos. Highly recommended!

Andres was very knowledgeable about many types of plants and animals we saw during the tour. We were able to see a tarantula, leopard frogs, birds, glass frogs, blue morph butterfly, spiders, and many stick bugs. The walk has uphill parts so walking shoes is a must but was relatively easy. Bring a waterproof jacket or poncho just in case is rains. Definitely recommend this night tour while visiting Monteverde

Great trip worth every penny. Took 20 family members. Easy registration, parking. Breakfast and lunch included, excellent and all you could eat. Unlimited exotic drinks with or without alcohol. Juices and sodas available for the kids. I highly recommend COSTA CAT.

I can see why this is a must do excursion for Monte Verde. Well organized and great team of staff who accompany you through the zip lines. Lovely views of the cloud forest while zipping along. Tarzan swing was a huge hit for the brave people in our group. If Tarzan swing was too tame for you, you can pay for the Superman position on the last zipline.The Hanging Bridges were opportunity to see the cloud forest from a closer distance. Even saw a howler monkey on one of the bridges. We think he enjoyed being the center of attention.It’s an experience that we would all do again.

Very fun but depending on conditions the bridge event can get slow if people don't move along River cruise is good but could have seen this from the cruise ship

Everything was well organized, the guide provided us with all the information about the country and people and he and the driver were very caring

This experience was amazing. Breath taking scenery walking through the jungle literally feels like you are where heaven and earth meet. Kevin our guide was amazing full of knowledge; he was excellent

The Shore Excursion: Puntarenas Highlights 6 in 1 Combo Tour was an excellent choice. Driver, Fernando, and tour guide, Ronald did a wonderful job navigating through the day and keeping us safe.We were picked up at the Puntarenas cruise port, and joined a small group for the tour in an air conditioned van. The hike in the rainforest jungle across three suspension bridges was manageable. The terrain was uneven, with a combination of dirt paths, stepping stones and steps. The foliage was lush and beautiful, the weather, hot and humid, and the insects were kept away with repellant. The hike was slippery in places, so good traction shoes are a must, and a walking stick (provided) was helpful. Crossing the suspension bridges was thrilling, but be prepared for bouncing and swaying.The visit to the Crocodile Safari for a boat ride along the along the Tarcoles River was great. The driver, and tour guide were knowledgeable, and pointed out many American crocodiles, and a variety of birds native to the area. Each guest was given a pamphlet on local birds with photos and description for reference.There was a stop for shopping, snacks and refreshments and then we were returned to Puntarenas Cruise Port. It was a great day!

Heiner was an amazing tour guide!! My friends & I can’t say enough good things about him. He took photos for us! We got to see a toucan, howler monkey, sloths, frogs & so much more!!!

This trip was absolutely incredible! We had perfect weather and enjoyed every activity they included - snorkeling, banana boat ride, hiking, and the lunch was outstanding!! So much food all super tasty and satisfying. Drinks were also plentiful and the Costa Cat staff were 10/10 especially Wilbur. Definitely bring sunscreen and towels but so much is provided otherwise. It might seem pricey but it’s 100% worth it and this cannot be missed! One recommendation is motion sickness meds for the boat ride as it get choppy and is 1 hr long. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was an incredible tour! I would recommend this for anyone looking for a day of activity and relaxing while taking in the incredible views of Costa Rica. The crew was incredible and made the experience so much better. We were able to see a few species that we hadn’t seen yet like dolphin and a peccary.

The full day trip to Tortuga Island was perfect! Wilbur and his crew were beyond hospitable and attentive. The boat ride was beautiful and the island with Costa Cat’s amenities was incredible. We did snorkeling but skipped the banana boat and hike to relax on the beach. The lunch was huge and very appetizing. I loved the red salsa and rice. Bring lots of sunscreen and a hat! There is a small gift shop and a little bar if you want to get a drink outside of the drinks they offer (we aren’t big drinkers but I liked having one cocktail). I had the cocoloco out of a coconut. Both take cards but bring cash for tips 😃 You will not regret booking the experience!

MIUST DO EXCURSION. If you are trying to decide on what to do while in the area. Pick this!!! Our favorite day in Costa Rica was visiting Isla Tortuga. Costa Cat made it an even more of an amazing experience. We drove to the Marina, check-in was fast and easy.Throughout the trip you get unlimited water, soft drinks, jungle juice, and margaritas. You can pay an additional fee to upgrade your drinks to more options. We aren’t big drinkers so we did not opt in to this option.We docked at Isla Tortuga they had an area of lounge chairs and umbrellas reserved for us. We started off the day by taking a mini boat out to snorkel, they provided goggles, snorkels, flippers, and life vests. We saw a few fish nothing too crazy.We ate lunch cooked by the team. Chicken, Rice, Beans, and Salad. The crew sang happy birthday to me and gave us Chiliguero shots 🫶🏼. Lots of food left over if anyone wanted seconds.Later on we went out to ride the banana boat, they provided helmets and life jackets. Got thrown off several times.🤣Eco Walking trail, had options of 15 minutes, 25 minutes, and 45 minutes. The trail begins off with very steep stairs so we stopped at the 15 minute mark. You still get an amazing view. We got to see howler monkeys super up close.Lastly I just want to make a point of how the Captian and the crew were so attentive, never let you be with an empty drink, cleaned up our trash so quickly, overall super friendly, and just amazing service. We live in Vegas so our standard of service I would say is pretty high, but these guys did great. Can’t wait to come back again.Pura Vida 🏝️🫶🏼
